Auckland Night Lights Cruise with Drink and Canapés

About This Experience
The Red Boats run this evening cruise from Z Pier in Westhaven Marina, St Marys Bay, west of the Harbour Bridge approach. It has a 4.4 rating from 82 reviews and starts from $40 per person, with a welcome drink and canapés in the price.
Meet the crew at the Z Pier gate 15 minutes before departure. After a ten-minute safety briefing, the first half hour on the harbour comes with your welcome drink. Canapés are served over the next 30 minutes as the boat cruises along the city waterfront past the Viaduct Harbour and the Sky Tower. A 20-minute pass under the lit Harbour Bridge is the photo stop, and the last 20 minutes are free time on deck before returning to Z Pier.
The mood is social, not a guided tour: the listing includes background music and specifically excludes live commentary. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and a licensed bar sells extra wine, beer, spirits, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks. Recent guests single out the canapé spread and the light display on the Harbour Bridge.
It suits couples, birthdays and groups of friends who want a relaxed night out on the water with something to eat and drink. If you want the stories behind the landmarks, the sunset cruise and the daytime sightseeing cruise both have live commentary. If you want a full meal, the buffet dinner cruise is the step up.
Bring a warm jacket or a change into warmer clothes, as it gets cool on the water at night. Anyone who looks under 25 needs photo ID for the bar. Pay-and-display parking at Z Pier costs about NZ$4 an hour, and taxi or Uber drivers should be told Z Pier drop-off.

Fantastic harbour lights cruise on Auckland Harbour. Lovely staff, clean and safe boat. Cruising for two hours in nice calm water seeing the spectacular light show on the harbour bridge and the lights of Auckland City. Fantastic spread of canapés. Well worth the money. Highly recommend

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Night Lights cruise have commentary?
No. The listing includes background music and lists live commentary as not included. If commentary matters to you, the sunset cruise or the 90-minute sightseeing cruise from the same pier both have it.
What food and drink is included?
One welcome drink on boarding and a selection of canapés served during the cruise. Extra wine, beer, spirits, cocktails and soft drinks are sold at the bar.
Is it enough food to count as dinner?
It is a canapé selection, not a meal, though recent guests describe a generous spread. If you want a full dinner on board, the Red Boats buffet dinner cruise is the one to book.
When should I arrive?
Be at the Z Pier gate 15 minutes before departure. If you are driving, allow extra time to pay for parking at the pay-and-display machines.
Is the Harbour Bridge lit up?
The cruise includes a 20-minute pass beneath the illuminated bridge, and recent reviewers mention its light show. Lighting displays are run by the city, so what you see can vary by night.
